You knew there'd be sunset, soon as the sun rised

Shedding the carapace,
More and more aware of the edge
So and so's that I reaped, tears that I've wept
This corridor that I rest, moving towards the glare at the end
Cherishing breathes becoming oh so harder
Thick skin, wrinkled thin, losing my coat of armor
Wither that outgrown, the ambrosia I would've swallowed
As that cloud didn't remain a cloud
It dropped and followed the veins in the ground, the frame that we're bound
Swimming towards the ocean, our waves to its mouth
At times fed up, but fed for my life
Lessons disguised, being the fish that fried, ebbs and the rise
All paths lead to it, even emperors die
Just go with the flow's magnificence
You know what you know and it's different
Open the door feel the breath of the wind
Even what's severed's connected by things
If we have to let it end, let it in, and let it begin

The chrysalis of the butterflies, withers with the lullaby
The body lies, awaiting under the melancholy skies
Teardrops from the eyes watered what was dried
Giving flowers through love forcefully undisguised
Trying to see their soul through closed eyes
Their laugh through closed lips, so far but so close by
Under the dirt grows the high and revered oak
The roots that burrow deep and seek light from the fair stars
We wonder where we go, but don't know where we are
Learned tools of the trade, to lose them with age
A lucrative wage, equal dues and debts to be paid
A suit that was weaved, grew from the hedge of the maze
When I'm left to wait, too frail to write a last song
Crests of waves, towards the light, to pass on
Horizons wide, the dispersing of sides
Hoisting sails with these curtains of life
